Shading is perfect, as are the proportions, posture and lighting. I actually like the sketchy look to it, and the cloud/fog effect is really well done! Keep it coming.
It's a heavy! =O
Nice work, damn did you do this with a felt pen? I'm guessing because the colour gets stronger where the brush strokes overlap (I'm such a graphic nerd). But yeah, that's impressive, because whether or not it's a felt pen, I've never found it easy to make a good pic out of felt pens.
Keep it up! =D
it's "Copic MArker"
that type of marker is sooooo good.
whole new type of world
This is good work with Pen and ink. I love the comic-book style, and how some of the picture leaks out of the frame (one of the best conventions of comics). However like J-qb said in your thread, it's difficult to distinguish the different shapes.
This is something I've struggled with myself - you can see evidence of that in one of my pen drawings. My advice to you is (I've recently tried this and it works perfectly) use thiner lines and lighter shading in the distance, then thicker lines and more dense shading in the foreground. This helps set up the perspective. In real life, we notice that he further something gets away, the less detail we see.
Give it a try, I look forward to how your art progresses. =)
will do : )
I am impressed! =D
I love the way you've lit it. I love the little details like the blood on the cigarette and the black eyes. And the hair looks very real! I also like how the black background comes into it as well. I dunno if it was intentional but a black background to me, symbolises this guy's dark background. Plus it draws the attention to him.
Keep it up! :)
As thankful for the praise as i am, its not a dude. I dont think i could have made her lips any bigger, a feminine jaw-line, and a shit ton of eye make-up.
Not bad for a first go.
I like this piece. It's simple, has a basic narrative, and a funny ending. Illustrations are simple but fitting. So you've basically ticked all the boxes to pass 'level 1'. So it's a perfect skeleton. Now all you gotta do is put some flesh on it. Just extend the level of illustrative detail, and extend the story detail and length, and you're already starting 'level 3.'
Keep up the good progress. =D
thanks for the review, although i think the story is about as long and detailed as it's going to get, no plot development here...
I can't believe how long it took me to get this...
I couldn't understand why Gordon was older and black until I read the review below. lol I thought it was Eli Vance (Eli does look like Morgan Freeman himself so it makes sense). Any way, I really like this pun. Especially how Morgan Freeman is viewed as something 'above human'. =P
Apart from that, detail is awesome, and I love your drawing style.
